Vehical inspection *April 28th 2007

As some of may know the police have been handing out vehicle inspection notices. Basically they pull you over and instead of giving you a ticket you receive a notice with a date, time and a location to appear. And basically they inspect your car to see if it is fit for the road. They just do a basic inspection of for vehicle safety and emission. If you have a properly running car you don't have anything to worry about. MOST of the police officers and mto officers were quite nice; there not all out to get jus you. I only saw two car pulled off the road and both of them were stock cars(Not even imports). Im pretty sure i asked them about every mod you can do to a car so if you have any question pls post them and i will do my best to answer.

Heres a couple pics.

does anyone know whats going on with nitrous? i know its not illegal but can it be hooked up or does the connections have to be off?

2TONE_93GT 04-29-2007 10:05 AM

What a joke. :thumbsdow

green-eg 04-29-2007 10:21 AM

nitrous cannot be connected and i believe the bottle can only be in the car for transportation to and from the track, and car shows

98gsrstock 04-29-2007 12:29 PM

Nitrous is illegal

Dude is ilegal to transport unless u have the sticker on ur car that says transporting an explosive or flammable gas.

green-eg 04-29-2007 06:56 PM

nitrous is not flamable, and i dont believe it is explosive either. Nitrous oxide is an oxidizer and therfore creates a more violent burn. have you ever seen one of those stickers on any drag cars or otherwise? i havent. nitrous oxide is not legal on any road or highways unless you have a licence to carry dangerous goods. it work on the same principal of transporting a propane cylender, follow the guidelines and you legal.

This is correct. Nitrous is not illegal to have installed on your car. But if you have the bottle you must have a license to carry explosive gas. And you must have stickets on the car similar to the ones on trucks that car gas cylinders.

have you guys never heard or seen one of these before? get use to it cause they will be happening more this summer since the new street racing law is comming in to effect. some times they give you minutes or hours or even days and weeks. i know the one we had in guelph last year it was instantly from one part of town to the other, you really had no time to swtich anything.

Mean98Neon 04-30-2007 08:29 PM

How do cops expect people to have the time/fuel/money to be driving across the other side of the city for this B.S. .. Doesnt matter I guess cause we modify cars so we are the scum of the earth

qaz393 05-07-2007 03:29 PM

I would really like to know whatsup with this, Do they give you any tickets along with your plates being pulled? Can your insurance companies be aware of these events? or is this just like getting a parking ticket. What does it take to get the car back on the road? I have heard alot of talk about this, but alot of poeple don't really take the time to explain everything and what they know about it.

So brown kid what happened to you at the inspection?

BrowNKiD 05-10-2007 12:34 AM

When your plates are pulled the car ownship is transfered to unfit. Therefore im pretty sure your insurance company will know. To get the car back on the road is must be inspected by them again and pass.

blackycobo 05-12-2007 05:13 PM

Who was inspecting the cars? MTO officials? The officers themselves? or certified mechanics that the MTO hired?

84camaro 05-23-2007 11:09 PM

hahaha NOOOO they dont look for imports...
