What to do when charged with "streetracing" under new legislation

I heard this on the radio.

Fight it in court.

Have your lawer ask theres two questions.

1. Officer ----- did you see any timing devices in the defendants vehicle?

2. Did you get the plate number or apprehend the vehicle my client was allegedly racing?

Have the lawyer read the dictionary definition of Racing to the court.

Then enjoy your speeding ticket.

Good luck.

lol .. ur going to need a better defence than that ...

if u go in with that be prepaired to pay faculty insurance.

Well yeah, you are going to need a little better defense than that. Also if there is no other car, you are charged with "stunt driving".... Dont need a timing device for that.

But there is still some good news

Street racing: thousands charged, few convicted

I doubt you'd be able to find Faculty insurance the way the media is witchhunting.

A good % of people who have got off have used this defence or a variation
of it.

i went to court for that today got off pretty easier then most people do

got charged under the old laws not the new one. heres a tip guys. if you keep postponing the date and it crosses the 2 year mark then even if you plead guilty go through with the offence, pay your fines within 10 days then it doesnt show on ur record. i made an agreement with my lawyer and the prosecutor and the officer so thats what i was told

offence: 134 in a 50
offence date: May 14, 2006
penalty: 30 day license suspension, $610 with the surcharge.

good news: doesnt show on record no insurance hikes . lost 6 bills but oh well stupidity comes with a price

good luck to everyone whos getting charged recently
