2000-2001 VW jetta's?
Ok im looking for a new winter beater and come fall im gonna have to purchase something. Ive been looking at the Jettas and they seem to be so so cheap compared to year and millage.
Why are the VR6's so cheap? Are these cars even worth it? 4 engines to choose which one to choose? |
The VR6 jetta's and GTi's, are getting cheaper because they are coming off lease and have been thrashed to for 2 to 4 years.

so worth it or not worth it?

If the body is good, check the mileage. Do a compression test on all 6 cyl. Check accerleration. If it won't lay rubber, it has probably been run on regular gas, and will need some tune up work. The VR6 is a tough engine, and great to tuune, but I would be carefull about the body. CYA big time!

Sorry I missed the winter beater line. If you want a winter beater get a golf, jetta, or passat tdi. Turbo diesel, awesome mileage, good get-up-and-go, and cheap to insure.

Maybe, but if he just wants a winter beater, he's probably not going to keep it very long.
