Re: 2000 golf 1.8t - good deal?

THanks guys for the replies! and indepth things to look for! Along with Porsche im also looking for a VW. I swear to god, me and him are looking at the exact same ones on kijiji! haha luckily, he'll get the deal as im trying to sell my car at the moment. Are there any common issues to look out for on the 1.8ts? I assume once you get them you should properly tune them as the turbos may not perform well due to wear and tear, read somewhere that a turbo should be replaced around 200k. Correct me if im wrong haha.

**answering the question, yeah thats one hell of a deal, just curious is it the silver 1.8t in Mississauga?

People swear by hondas. people swear by VWs. personally, i had a honda and it was awesome! but VWs are awesome.there reliable and require minor tunes to reach 280 hp almost. the 1.8s are known to be good tuner engines. Problem with taking it to VW for inspection is it's expensive!!!
