89 jetta 16v motor to 88 cabrio
 

hey guys bought a 89 jetta with 16v 5 spd... i wanna put in my 88 cabrio.. my car is auto... can it work in my car.. what auto tranny fit the jetta 16v? plz help again.... make sure u guys have good answer okay i wanna get this car over with.............

Why would you want to keep it automatic? It will make your swap alot easier to do if you just make it manual. Im not even sure what tranny will work especally since your's is an 8v auto tranny. And to be honest, if you are already having trouble finding out what will work and what wont, you shouldnt be doing a swap.
