95 golf gti...

I was thinking of buying the 1995 golf gti... the 4cyl not the vr6... i couldnt find a reputable source to see how much hp it has and etc... and im wondering how would it compare to a cavalier z24...

drift_n_shift 08-24-2007 03:04 AM

i'm not sure about hp, but cool factor-wise; gti>cavalier imo

flight_90 08-24-2007 03:07 AM

yaa thats tru... i've always like golfs, and the cool thing is that this one is cheaper on insurance then the vr6 and its still must be kinda fast... well atleast to me... I consider a 95buick regal fast lol

so does anyone kno the hp number??? plz

Midnight Racer 08-24-2007 01:30 PM

The 4cyl GTi's had 115hp

115 HP, got the same car...i call it my "gas saver" for an 8V motor, its got some pull to it.

GTISleeze 01-17-2008 01:29 AM

Ya I have a '94, same motor, and it definitely has some kick

VWJettaMK2 01-17-2008 02:17 AM

Best part about is that the OBD1 ABA motors had a forged crank and oil squirters..So if you ever planned on going boost, thats the motor that would work very well. Its reasonably quick but its not a miracle worker..Dont get your hopes up.

115hp and 120tq, they are solid cars, has nice low end power and tourque for a 4 banger, however its still pretty slow imo.

GTISleeze 01-29-2008 10:34 PM

Mine's a 94, and ya its slow. Not sure what defines "bottom-end" torque, but mine's friggin gutless below 3000
