MK4 Turbo Upgrade?

Hey all,

try bolt ons first, like a bigger downpipe, exhaust, filter and an ecu upgrade.Just those mods will gain quit a bit of power from the 1.8T.

thanks, that's what I was thinking too. But, my biggest concern is that i don't want to push the stock turbo too much and risk blowing the seals....

Thats why i recommended the ecu upgrade since you don't have to turn up the boost and risk damaging the turbo or motor.I recommend APR APR - High Performance Development for Volkswagen Vehicles just their ecu will boost horsepower to 200hp at the flywheel plus its safe rather then you turning up the boost and hoping things don't blow up.

Umm.. just to let you know.. chipping a 1.8T (say from APR) increases the boost... as the boost AFR and timing tables are remapped, and all controlled by the ECU.

Head over to SEM motorsports tell them Sascha sent you... they're a REVO dealer, and offer a 5 hour free trial of the REVO software...

So you get to try the power before you pay for it... it's nice.. you get 5 hrs of a remapped ecu, and then it reverts itself back to stock all on it's own.

here's their web site:
