Theres a few things that can be wrong;

- Change your coolant(As in flush the whole system with new G12 coolant[ONLY G12 FROM VW. NOTHING ELSE!!!])
- Heater core<--expensive fix

I second the heater core.

Diagnose the problem properly before spending a whole heep of money trying to find out whats wrong yourself

im having this same problem in my 95 Jetta 2.0....

I will take a look at the thermostat....hopefully its not the heater core!! yikes

what's the reading on your temperature gauge? Does your car have AC?

Temp is normal and yes the car has AC (if you were talkin to me lol)

Heater-core is an easy job to take care of and cheap to find.

DIY.
