The last I heard, the official weight for the mk5 gti was 3150lbs. The mk4 1.8T was 2950lbs.

MKV Curb weight is listed as 1336 kg which translates into 2945.3 lbs, 5 lbs lighter than the MKIV.

looks promising, but I'd take GTD any time, was at Queensway I must say the Jetta has a good feeling inside, but only time will tell if the reliablility is as "good" as a mk4.

Yea those were early reports, probably before you even saw/heard of the mk5. I looked it up after and saw that its only ~1340kg
