nice cars..

but really poor performance and expensive parts..(i used to own two vw's)

plus i dont like the owner of that green mk3 1.8t

B6T 02-21-2005 08:33 PM

I agree... VWs are nice cars, but parts are SO expensive for what you get. The cars are even a rip off to begin with... lets spend $35,000 for a car that still uses a torsion beam rear axle, and could get out-handled by a Toyota Echo. :knock_tee

You probably wouldn't hear me repeat this after a ride in my friends APR Stage III Jetta 1.8T... that car is FAAAAAAAST. The 1.8T is an awesome engine.

it is....and can hold up so much boost on stock internals...plus lil bolt ons make impressive hp :thumbsup

yea well id rather spend that money on a vw then on any honda talk about not worth the money

Scarboroughdub 02-21-2005 11:22 PM

I dont think parts are as expensive as a honda for example if you were to build a motor up for boost turbos cost the same they are not vehicle and cost specific and manifolds also cost in the similar range same as pistons. this also applies to suspensions and so on so when you guys say they are way more expensive i would have to disagree and who says you cant get a vw to handle with some coilovers you can make anything handle.

plus honda's are :supergay:

skillton 02-21-2005 11:25 PM

Bottom end can even be cheaper to build up compared to hondas, since you dont have to sleeve the block, and most of the vw rods/cranks are good for 300-400whp.
