question

i have a 2000 vw golf with a slow 2.0, and was wondering how mcu it would cost me to put in a vr6 or 1.8t, anybody know any figures

Depends where you go to do the install and which motor with what mileage you get. For the motor alone, your looking at anything between 1500-5000$, plus another 2500$ for installation. You can save some money and use your stock tranny, brakes, etc.

unless you've already invested huge amount of $$$$ into your 2.0 (suspension, body, A/V, interior upgrades) you would be better off buying a a MK4 dub with a VR or 1.8T.
They go relatively cheap now anyway - considering the City and the MK5's are out.

If you can get a hold of a 1.8T or a VR6 jump on that.

My friend picked one up last month for $5500, just had high km, but it has been maintained since day 1.
