HKS is over rated. You will lose power and if you want to get HKS, yes you will need to recirculate it because IF I am not mistaken, the stock DV sits on the intake boot and attaches to the intercooler piping via long rubber tube. To put an HKS on a 1.8T motor(I know yours is FSI) you'd need an adapter kit for it.

Get a forge DV, it works just as good for half the price(if not more)

I'm not too familiar with VWs, but it all depends on where the air metering is done. If its metered after the BOV you'll be fine. If its before the BOV then you will lose metered air while shifting causing a rich condition. Recirculating back into the intake pipe will help keep the turbo spooled a bit better during shifts, and your gas mileage will improve slightly. I choose performance over sound, so I recirculate!

Forge DV for the win. Ive got a few friends running it and they haev said nothing but good things about it.

Also in that DIY thread, it could cause you to lose boost and knowing VW's it'll throw a check engine light. Also you might want to look into warranty purposes as you dont want to void your warranty by putting that ish on.

DV isn't a BOV. You're probably thinking FORGE SPACER for the PSSSSH sound =O)
