stuttering lurching jetta

i need some advice 'bout my '97 jetta,..

it stutters and lurches (not cold), more so in first and second,..mild stutter when idle,...changed the fuel filter....coil seems fine,....any suggestions?

could it be that exessive oil from the crank case ventilation is contaminating the mass air flow? it seems to have alot of oil in the air intake...
if this may be the case can the airflow sensor be cleaned?

any thoughts out there would be greatly appreciated,...

I'm no VW expert by any means, but it could very well be issues with the air flow. The fix could even be something as simple as new spark plugs.

i think its your heat sensor man, it ****ed up everything on my jetta, oil, air flow, soaked the spark plugs everytime it started up, went put put put and when i gave it gas right away it stalled, so i gaurantee its your heat sensor

^^^ could very well be the coolant sensor
