That really sucks must of been the exhuast rubbing on the chrome insulation on the fire wall, and it also looked liek the fire exthingsure didnt even work.

Hey smartass, NAWS is an oxidizer. it doesn't burn, it accelerates burning, but when a bottle of it gets super heated, thats where u get the KA-BOOM! :newbie:

turbocivic 05-14-2005 09:44 PM

I would have smothered the flames with my shirt but thats just me being practical............

but eitherway that would really suck

BrowNKiD 05-14-2005 11:40 PM

y didnt they use the fire extinguisher earlyier? does anyone know wat caused the fire?

Viperoni 05-14-2005 11:50 PM

Jeez! They had so much time they could have pulled the engine out of the bay and saved the rest of the car if they wanted to.

NOTORIOUS VR 05-15-2005 12:49 AM

^^^ I'd like to see anyone here in that situation try to stop that fire.... and by the looking at the vid it was burning for a while since it was smoking inside the car before they pulled over.

And for some reason I don't think that fire extinguisher was theirs...

all in all I'd just say bad luck...

SuprAdam 05-15-2005 01:40 AM

that is horrible. I am glad I keep a jug of every fluid in the hatch and a fire extinguisher. If something catches on fire its getting put out right away.

I witnessed that happening to another car tho, at a scotia bank in Brampton. It was an early 90's cavalier, just as I finished using the ATM he stopped his car in front of the bank on the road and there was smoke coming from the back of the car (electrical fire). The whole thing went up in flames right there on queen st. Took the fire crew a good 20 minutes of spraying to fully put it out.

It looks like his return line leaked oil onto the exhaust manifold and it all lit up. He had a bigger turbo with aftermarket return lines.

lude2nv 05-15-2005 07:49 PM

thats what i jsut noticed.. looking at the vid.. return line must have blown and oil ignited on the manifold. that sucks soo bad..i guess one of them ran over and got a extinguisher from a place across the street.but if u watch the movie.. he is showing that its empty.. must have not been recharged in a while.

ricernoob 05-18-2005 08:13 AM

I knew he had "enough NOS to blow himself up"

So after he spent over 5000usd on a bigger turbo, wheels, exterior mods, suspension mods, etc... he can't afford it?
He woulda made most of his money back parting the car out and returning it back to stock, or just selling it with the mods.

true_life06 03-28-2006 08:21 PM

either way it is.. or was a beautiful car, what a shame.

964carrera 03-31-2006 02:25 PM
