Vr6 Rebuild - Where to go?

Well I just recently picked up at 98' Golf Gti. I already got some goodies on it, lowered suspension, driver edition rims and momo steeringWheel/front seats. Last thing I want to do is get the engine rebuilt - get kind of a fresh start. It has 233xxx on it and runs very very well but I just want it to be fresher.
I'm looking for the best bang for the buck and of course quality but I guess they go hand in hand.

Where to go?

How much money are you looking to spend? When you answer me this Ill let you know which shop will do it for that much. If it runs pretty good then why bother rebuilding..

**** dude..1000$ barely pays for the parts..They sell rebuild kits out there for like 450-700$..

Labour alone is roughly 900-1500$+

I say for now you do maintainace on it. Change the spark plug wires, spark plugs, change the oil, change the air filter, change the tranny fluid, etc..

dont bother rebulding it, mileage means nothing, as long as the car was maintained, and hve good compression. my vr (usa car) has 153k miles on it, chipped exhaust intake, rape stock vr's all day. just use a good oil, change it when its starts to get dark. if you want to know more, pm me.

if your vr is running good just leave it.... if u wanna build it... save up atleast like 4 or 5 grand and do something proper... if your ganna pay someone to open you motor u might as well give them proper parts to put in.... personally if i was ganna build my vr, i would rebuild if it broke, or fully build it... nothing inbetween
