will a 92 passat catalytic converter fit a 92 gti

i have an upcomming etest and dont have the cash to buy a new catalytic converterfor my gti, so my buddy offerd me his off his 92 passat. I was just wondering if it clamps up, and if it will fit, i have a 2 1/4 after market exhaust

It won't fit that aftermarket exhaust.

any thing can fit... i mean metal is metal but its a good chance it wont sit right.. or it will have to sit too low or your going to need some crazy reducers etc... after market cats aren't that expensive find a small jobber... look up a place called world choice auto parts...

I would stick with any aftermarket cat. I would try to stay away from a high flow for now and just get the e-test over with. You wouldn;t want to get a highflow cat and fail the etest thinking that its because of the performance cat.
