What Should I go to My GSR?

alright guys, I got a 98 GSR *BONE STOCK* and begging for something, but before i dump all my $$ into one thing and decide to chnage it a few months later i want to stick to one set up to keep in my car and never change until of course i get more $$ lol so based on your opinions, and experience what would you guys say is best?

1) Take my B18c1 and do all internals plus head and cylinder work for boost
2) Build a K series for boost and if you agree with this you know where i can get a k24 block and k20a2 head?
3) your ideas?

the 2nd option seems the most logial for my goal to have a sub 12 sec possibly sub 11 sec gutted street car. and hwne i mean gutted i mean no A/c , power steering, or sound dampeing material, im keeping the seats and amplifier in it.

those are some pretty big plans you have there for your GSR. I say u start by gutting it all out before any of that other stuff. This will give you some time to think about what direction you want to go.

dats what i planned on doing this winter, but that will prolly take a weekend at most.

damn you work too fast... ok well for the hell of it, go with option 2.

i see in ur side bar u got a 95 rs ? by any chance do u have any experince with k swaps yourself and do you know the relative diffuculty of one?

Gonads 10-02-2007 08:50 PM

nah man, my car is almost stock, i havent done much to it at all, eventually someone will pipe in some knowledge they have.

hopefully i dont want to get into something i know little about. I mean swaps are generally not that hard to do ie. Bseries into eg's however ive never worked on or with a K so i have no clue.

dude if ur GsR runs strong and doesnt burn oil then boost it. if not, rebuild it then boost it. the K-series is better for an N/A setup. On a stock internaled gsr u can make around 300whp easily and reliably.

see i got a code that my cylinder 4 is misfiring and my car burns oil when im up in vtec range wtf you think is wrong? i changed distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I also have the engine check light on too.
