Pfft on any surface? Any temp? Warm up meats first?
My money would be on the GTR to be CONSISTENTLY faster from a dig. Before anyone starts arguing read that last sentence again. Anyway Nurburgring is the only test that matters...which the 473hp GTR is currently outrunning the higher horsepower & lighter Z06 by 7-seconds, so Chevy will need all the edge they can get.
I expect arguments hey it is the internet afterall but the ZR1 will be over $100K and thats if you can pry one one from the chubby hands of a pot-bellied Yank for under double the cost of a GTR.

agreed the awd will help the gtr in a huge way. but if youve done any reading to the new zr1 its a whole new beast. its suposed to have over 100 hp more than the current z06. so thatll be over 600 hp. rumours floating around are 650 is the number. also its a blown 6.2 liter. you swap pullies, calibrate the computer for it and your making a load more power. same applies to the skyline of course. the zr1 suspension on the other hand is something quite interesting. its completely electronic and it basically knows what your doing before you do it. launch the car and itll squat in the back and take off. itll adjust itself to give you the best possible traction you can get. throw it into a corner and itll adjust. id imagine it to be a better handleing car than the zo6 and people in the zo6 are seeing over 1 g in corners in that thing. should be interesting to see what happens when the zr1 comes out. also the zr1 should be about 100g, wont be over that according to the guys at gm. gtr is what, 70 grand?
cant speak for a car that isnt being produced yet but i think itll be exciting to see what she can do.
dont get me wrong though. the gtr is quite impressive and has a great et and mph and seems to take turns quite well. very impressive indeed. will that car actually be available in canada though?

The skeptics are saying that the ZR1 bias toward the front (versus the Z06) is actually going to limit it. The Horsepower is impressive - it will be more impressive if they can keep it down to the pavement. Even with 335s, 620hp+ is a lot to deal with and will take a skilled driver to not own themselves on Turn 1!
The VQ architecture (stroked) is currently putting down 1016whp as the record. So without tearing down the 3.8L in the GTR I'd have to say that it will handle far more beatings, they have always have been detuned throughout history.
I just think before anyone jumps to the conclusion the ZR1 will be king, has to see real world tests and keep in mind the ZR1 is the best of what Chevy will offer...the new GTR is the base model!!! There is talk of a stripper version for the following year coming in at 3200lbs, then possibly a V-Spec III or Z-Tune in which case it could be an unbelievable performer.
Just pointing out that its a little early to take the crown away.
FYI: Canadian dealers are taking pre-orders so it will be coming, I may have to sell everything, get a divorce and pimp some hoes to live the dream.

its a nice toy, but just that... a toy, for a weekend run on the track and maybe the local meet for some runs, but id never buy it as my main method of transportation its like owning a 1000 hp supra, same thing, sounds fun, not that easy to live with.

The 2006 Corvette using the older suspension setup and engine etc achieved a time of 7:42, the 2008 Nissan GTR achieved a time of 7:38. Both cars had different testing procedures, the corvette done its record run from a standing start and a full lap (typical testing procedure for GM), the GTR was from a flying start and a bit less than the full lap (typical Sport Auto lap format).........Porsche also has its own testing procedures, Porsche usually tests their cars with traffic.
