Its a 400 smallblock with a 300 shot. Would you rather spend 10 grand and run 10s or spend 50 grand to run...10s?? Up here in expensive Canada y'ALL should be leaning towards dollar per ET not Power to weight.

^Thats so very true...

Yea a 300 shot trailer-queen beat it....

difference, the Camaro was BUILT to be a trailered drag car, the Evo was built to be a daily driver....

There's 9 second daily driven Camaro's out there too, and even 8 second daily driven f-body's....its all about what ur purpose to build the car is for....if u got the money to trailer ur car, why not..??

Why risk daily driving a mint condition '67 Camaro thats worth a load of money and his probably more time and sentimental valeu invested in it than most cars on the road?

So you can run 33psi on pump gas??...and if any car is on a trailer then it MUST be a race car....is that what you're trying to say

well that car wasn't a street car by any means.

And Z28 Metal Head... The day I see a daily driven 8 or even 9 sec street car, I'll give up drinking... To get tho's times out of a daily driver makes it unpleasant to drive every day.

Street legal doesn't = daily driver

i MUST agree with u there. good point.

this place is ridiculous, which is why u don't see as half as many nicely done-up cars than in the U.S.

Theres streetable LS1s with stock suspension running 7:90s on boost, even one in Pickering in the low 8s. Hey, I like EVOs..hell Ive been playing both sides, V8s and the best 'banger 4G63 engine as well. And for a quick streeter that you can drive around the DSM is cool but you just saw it, a musclecar with next to nothing and a much lower rent will get the number for lower dollar. That thing left on that EVO like it was standing still and it wouldve done it from a stand still even better. You've all been to the dragstrip and seen imports get destroyed by musclecars. Just the first time its been done in one of these videos.

And speaking of streetcars I already posted the pump gas drags in the drag racing forum. Not one Import and now HOTROD is having dragweek. 5 tracks 300 miles from track to track in 5 days, no trailers, no support vehicles, no nothing. You and your car. Whos going to win?? An Import COULD win and I'd honestly like to see a supra take it. BUT with 650 inch 55 Chevys pulling the blower belt off for the drive and running 87 octane..THEN putting belt back on, filling up with 116 octane at the track and running 30 psi..itll be close...and by far the race of the year. Its coming this september.
www.hotrod.com go to message boards. Marko D is signing up with his streeter 1500whp Poopra....

No i know it wasnt a street car cuz if it were it wouldnt have been trailored in....HOWEVER unless we've seen the car in person or talked to the owner or sum 1 with credible info. on the car, we will realyl never know how streetable the car is...it might be a full interior car, it might not be tubbed....regardless thats not the issue...

There are many sub 10 and sub 10 second daily driven street cars...look at Warbirds LS1 Turbo Formula Firebird....he was doing consistant 10 flats, completely streetable and street driven...obviously theres different things on the track that u need if ur in certain speed classes....driveshaft loop, cage, extinguisher, Parachute...i dont know the exact details on what numbers u need to be running for each safety requirement....

13.99 and under Helmet
12.99 and under i believe u need like a 3 point harness or something
11.99 and under driveshaft loop and what not...

i dunno, sum tracks have different rules right? so i have no idea....

Ive got videos of completely street legal and street driven 7, 8, 9 and 10 second LS1's with stock style suspension....upgraded the 10 bolt rear end to a 12 bolt moser, slicks, SFC's, and other basic mods....ive got videos of all motor LS1's in the 10's and 9's...nitrous'd STOCK block, heads and cam small block cars running 10's with ET Streets..completely street worthy....

Meah....hell ive seen 10 second street driven FWD cars....

yea but u see, the thing is, i think we would all have been happier seeing some turbo z06 turbo zo6, or some other big power newer model street v8 car shillacking it. the fact that it took some trailer queen that barely idles because of its stupidly aggresive cam on a lot of nitrous to beat him kind of makes it a low point. theres plenty of street v8's out there capable of this thing, but because his first loss here is to some big block trailer car, youre gonna have ricers out there mouthing off "hahahah, stupid dohmestics. it took a funny car on a trailer to beat that evo. heheheheheh v8's suck, vtec rules!"
you get the point

That Camaro was a streetcar. Any sprayed small block (it wasnt a big block) with steep gears, big stall 4000-5500, big *** solid lifter cam, a single plane intake and a mechanical secondary carb will idle like that...and run like that. Ive built one, owmed one and raced one. Rowdy? Yes. Nothin like 2 chamber flowmasters, 3.5 " DUAL exhaust, 600 lift, 4000 stall, rev manual valve body trans and it feels like your driving a tin barrel down the road but are they ever fast. That thing was on a trailer because he prolly drove a long distance to get there. 16 gallon fuel cells suck ***

Yep...just cuz the car was trailered in doesn't mean it's not a street driver....this can be argued till yer blue in the face

I have a 66 Bigblock Fairlane that makes that Camaro sound tame...in the summer I drive this car everyday...I trailered it to Luskville to race so now is it a race car...No...I can live with 1100 rpm idle and 8 mpg...i've even driven her in the rain on BFG Drag radials

Why don't you boys come down to Shannonville...we'll show you two 9 second Camaro's that will be driven to the track...raced...then driven home to Napanee...then later in the night we will drive 30 km's to Kingston to cruise around for the night and race then come home...all on pump gas

I guess people have different oppinions on a daily driver...

I don't think a daily driver should have to pull over for gas every 100km's... I don't think a daily driver should be uncomfortable and noisy inside. Loud exhausts are ok, but if it droans on the highway or at city speeds it gets annoying very quickly.

I guess what I'm saying is, if/when you can pull up to a nice club/resaurant/whatever in a car that doesn't make you sweat, break your neck and make you deaf that to me is a DAILY driver.
