CheM street rep is low. keep going
Update? I moved it around a little today. When I parked it from making a few laps the front passenger side tire blew out over-night. Dry rotting is fun! I put the spare and other brown mag my dad had bought on it, atleast it can move around until we get new tires.

It needs to be repainted and I think it's going to happen soon. Probably the same shade of brown with a little metallic or pearl in it.

Anyway, here are some pics so far.

if it's that good of shape i wouldn't repaint unless you don't care about keepin it original but lately that seems to be what is going over really well

It's not in that good of shape There's a little rust around the back window, and at the bottom of all the fenders. There are dimples and bubbles in the paint that you can't see in the pictures, and flat spots in the paint that could probably be sanded and buffed out, but I'd rather paint the whole thing.

My dad went to HS with a guy who's built a couple of Angley show cars, real nice painter with a nice booth and gun setup and stuff. If we sand the car and prep it he'll spray it for the cost of materials.

I really need odds and ends. The dash is all there and original, but it sat for a couple years with the window down so it's really sticky and the black base of it is coming through. The stripe kit is like $280, but we aren't going to stripe it until we get it repainted. And we aren't going to repaint it until we get new tires.

It's a never ending money pit.

Nah that thing looks ******* good for its age, I would keep it the way it is but if you want to restore it up just keep it looking all origional since its all there just needs some fixing here and there.

Nah man I get it. It's a great feeling to make something so old feel so new again. I get chills when I'm sitting in the Camaro thinking about how my dad drove it off the showroom when he was only a little older than me.

We're definitely going to keep it all original, except for maybe a little internal engine work and exhaust or something. Gotta liven up that smog-emissioned to death 350 I think it would be great to do heads/cam and a bigger, true dual exhaust. Oklahoma doesn't have emissions problems, wewt!

+1 for both of you. It's an awesome feeling to restore an old car and be able to look back and say look where it was compared to where it is now. My dad and I restored the Ventura from the ground up, and it was very time consuming, and I'll be honest, a PITA, but in the end it was worth it. Hard work and it paid off, and I know I'm rambling so I'll shut up, but seriously you'll love the feeling of accomplishment you have when all is said and done.
