if you think thats bad...you should have seen the 99 Le Mans. The Mercedes CLR's flipped 3 times, with two lesser flips while Mark Webber was at wheel during practise and qualifying. Then the most famous flip during the race with Peter Dumbreck Driving. His car lifted at somewhere around 170-180 mph. The car flipped over the safety fence and into a forest. Landed about 60 feet away from the track.

What happened was they were eaching 350+ km over a small crest in the track. If they hit it at the wrong angle, the front end lifted a fraction of an inch and thats all it takes to launch one of those cars. It happened to one of the McLaren F1 cars two years ago when Ralf Schumacher ran over Coulthard's front tire. Ralf ended up going about 20 feet in the air, and fortunately landed up right.
