why did i get it? well my z28 has 140,000 miles, and ive put way too much money into it since i got it, its falling apart. so last week when my check engine light came on i had had enough.

i got a loan for 9000, looked around, this was the first i saw, and i loved it. 97 trans am, lt1, 6-speed, 61,000 miles, leather, power windows, locks, mirrors, all stock, just what i want. no more breaking.

and does anyone notice the front drivers side? when i went for a test drive the dumbass tried showing off and he hit a small tree. ****** up the license plate/holder and cracked the bumper and fender. i took a good look, and drove it. no mechanical damage (radiator, suspension, etc) and all it needs is a new bumper and fender then paint...so i got 1500 off the price :D

i'm going to replace my knock sensor on my Z (thats what the light was) then im selling it.

Gonna pull any old parts off the Camaro?

well i looked at a 98 Z28 but it had 98000 miles. so yeah, 9k would get me an LS1, but with lotsa miles, the point of getting a new one was to avoid that.

and yeah that guy felt really stupid and kept swearing at himself and thought the damage was really bad and probably thought he'd never sell it now...i kinda took advantage of him :)

I understand that, I had a guy trying to sell me his '98 Z28 for $10,000 when I was looking for mine but it had just under 100,000 miles. Plus it was modified with a cam, clutch, gears, etc... and I don't buy cars that have already been modified because you never know who did the work and if they did a good job. So I bought my Z28 with 42,000 for $12,000.

yeah im seeing that more and more with the LS1's, really high mileage but still a high price. i see some on cz28 for pretty good prices but no where near me. ive been looking at the z's with the ls1's but i love the SS hood so very much. and im thinking if i do get an ss ill get the zl1 wing.

cool deal. i bought both my LT1s from the same guy. now i know he beats on the cars but i didnt have a lick of trouble with the yellow Z so i said what the hell right. its just a chance u take. my camaro had 120k on it and the WS6 has 97k. many people run LT1s right past 150k and are fine so thats why im not worried. plus i got a helluva deal on the WS6 and ill make money prolly in the end. you got anything planned to do yourself for the T/A Caleb or you just gonna leave it?

well first im going to get that bumper fixed...im gonna just get some aftermarket OE parts and have a shop paint em then install em myself. the clutch feels like its starting to slip when i get on it, which i didnt notice while leisurely test driving it wednesday, so i think i'll look at doing a stage 2 or 3 clutch...

then as far as appearance, its a TA, what more does it need? im considering either blacking out the corners or getting clears. then either the honeycomb taillights or blacking out what i got now. then the side Trans Am emblems i might either do in red or if i can find it chrome. and the rear letters either red or chrome. cant decide.

these wheels are fine, i love em, so i might just get the 17" chromes in this design. hood is fine too, if i do upgrade it just a ws6 hood. i like the one for this year. then tint the windows, replace this weak system, and then prolly LTs and an intake. nothing special.

Mine just had a catback and a drop in K&N performance wise, kinda hard to screw that up. ;)

Any chance you would be interested in a set of true SLP WS-6 17" chrome aluminum wheels?? I just happen to know someone with some who might be lookin for different wheels....

we have almost same ideas.lol. im satisfied for looks, only thing i want is clear corners and a matching hood color:). im working out a deal for full exhaust with Long tubes and mail order tune, then tires and a clutch. i think the WS6 hood is pertty much the only good choice for LT1 T/A's. either way it looks good. have fun and dont waste all your money on stupid crap:)

uh uh. pop ups own dude. own. especially when you were court ordered to go to anger management for minors, and all the other people are minorities and cant drive, so you park right in front, and they all come out and see you get into your badass ride and then it comes to life with the headlights poppin up...it was awesome.

no. i hate firebirds. the only firebird i considered while searching for a new car was a trans am. the front of 98+ firebirds/formulas looks alright but the front on 93-97 firebirds/formulas is ugly. the back of all 4th gens is ugly, too high, and the spoiler is dumb. TA all the way. like a rhyme...

what are the SLP ones? like mine right? im interested, but i'd only buy em once i sell my Z...then money would be easier...i'll ask again once i sell my z.
