im so lucky to work at a shop

i dropped my trans and found my inner input shaft bearing to be completely destroyed. luckily all the roller parts were still inside the input shaft where they reside, so nothing was lost inside the trans and i only had to pull the input shaft:

on the left part is the mainshaft and on the end is a small snout, well this is where the input shaft goes and in between the snout and the input shaft is a bearing...thats what broke:

heres the input shaft:

this is the side that contacts the mainshaft, and this is where the bearing goes, replaced the race too, which is pressed into here.

then, even though it wasnt bad, i replaced my rear main seal just cuz i was already in there

Great, congrats on getting her fixed. Hopefully you've found the problems and can keep her running without anything else coming up.

joys of owning an older car (10 years old is older especially since 20 is classic)

i thought 25 was classic? either way. my car was a 93 so that was abotu 12 years old and i didnt have a single problem, besides a leaky pan gasket and pinion seal.
