Yeah, wehn you hit something hard enough, it will cause a slice on the inside of the tires and the air flows between the layers to underneath the outside layer and makes the bulge. people always think that its a manufacturer defect and they want us to warranty their tires because of that.

D'oh, wow, just saw this post. Werd, yeah, I hit a pothole really good, knew it wasn't a defect, but I *did* want to go after the city and make them replace my tires, but I knew that was a lost cause as they won't even help people who have blowouts after hitting a pothole. It was just in the news last week or so that over two dozen people had blowouts one morning from another pothole in the area, the city basically said "**** you guys" and patched the pothole and that was it.

One of the tires had a bulge like that when I bought my car... unfortunately my dad only bought me a new tire instead of letting me cover the difference for four new ones.... so I'm stuck with my crappy continentals for now... oh well, I'll just do some burnouts and it'll be time for new tires.... and c5 rims while I'm at it

the city would need to have money to fix the roads in order to even think of paying the tire bill though

That's the sad part. All the taxes they give us saying "this is to pay for the road repairs" They put higher taxes on the gas, "for the road repairs," charge higher property taxes, "for the road repairs" but yet they don't have any money to fix the roads. I think the contractor they keep using to build the roads around here uses cheap cement so he knows in a few years he'll be out repaving and always having a job for himself. They can blame the salt all they want, everyone else uses salt and doesn't have the same problems we do... They need to do something, it's really really bad around here anymore.
