gm engeneering is they purposely sit around a table and look at hot cars of the past...
then they ask themselves HOW CAN WE THIS CAR UP......and they do it this goes for the charger especially , GTO and mustang, could have looked a bit better
meh i wouldnt mind owning those cars but damn what a waste the only thing they got goin for them is the Hemi :S

The 66-74 "real" chargers were touted as "personal luxury/Performance cars". Thats changed, there is ZERO market for a "P.L.P" vehicle. Those are now miatas,Z4s,S2000s,Crossfire etc.
2 doors dont sell in BIG numbers. Sure alot of us guys in our 20s want 2 drs..but you'd swap for a EVO/WRX in a second. The upcoming Dodge Challenger will be a mustang/GTO Fighter and it'll do VERY well.
WHY? Alot of people driving mustangs dont even like ford and alot of ppl driving GTOs dont even like pontiac.
To sell a 2dr well these days you have to attract the market thatmost sell to. Now. Who would that be? And what do we want.

^^ thats exactly right. the 2 doors dont sell in big numbers.
let me clue you in on a little secret. we were making the 300 and the magnum. DC wanted to start to overtake into the fleet car market. right now impala has a good hold on that, but its an easy target being that its a piece of .
DC says "no, we wont fleet the 300, its too upscale. no one wants to pull up in their baby bentley, to see a copy next to them running as a cab or cop car"
ok, so 300 is out of the picture. magnum would work, but being that its a 5 door, its not really usefull in a segment that needs a solid sedan.

so we brought out the charger. 4 doors, and it will fill the fleet car gap we had. some people didnt want the 300 bling bling look or the magnum wagon, so the charger also accomodates them.

like you say, us young guys like our coupes, but us young guys arent the ones buying these cars! if i had the cash for a hemi charger, i would definitely spend it elsewhere. nice car, but not my cup of tea.
the 30 something guys, who have a wife and kids, want to rekindle some memories, have some fun they havent had in a long time driving minivans or fwd domestic shitboxes, but at the same time have a car that is roomy and practical for every day.

this is not a sports or muscle car, and it was never meant to be. DC wants to have every part of the automotive segment covered, and the mustang/gto like you mentioned, is still an open gap. you bet that they will have something hot coming out. but to compete directly with the stang... it will require some damn good looks.

Well, I think it'll do to the Mustang like the Viper did to the Vette, Dakota R/T did to the Extreme/Ranger Splash, LX Cars VS everything else, SRT-4 VS Imports, Challenger VS Mustang...this is about to get REALLY GOOD!!

I seen that a LONG time back, Gm couldn't actually produce that.. Its too in SEXY ... I WOULD actaully buy one of those... So would MILLIONS of other ppl... So thats why GM won't build one. Too good.

Oh off with your bullshit 4.8L wont even tow trailers up a ing hill. 5.3 barely does. Hemi 345HP 6.0L Chev 345HP. 4.8? Dont know and dont care..they suck. Lets line up a 4.8 single cab short box 2wd against a hemi single cab 2wd.

What I don't understand is, whos ED UP idea was not to put an option of MANUAL gearbox for 300C or Magnum or Charger? All ofthem considered Sports Cars, but none of them will have manual. Charger with out manual? no-no.

Uhhhh we use to have exaxtly a 2003 4.8 extended cab GMC truck, a dude we hired to go to london to grab an empty bigger landscaping trailer said the thing was a joke, down shifting and ing around all over the 401 and 400. The truck had NO ***** I drove it lots. Now we have a 5.3 05 GMC same thing its a bit better, but nothing like my buddies 05 quad cab 4X4 HEMI Ram he has for personal use. Single cab work truck laramie dodge rams are actually a bit lighter than a 300c. Do the math.

06 Camaro eh? ...and parish put a 6.0L in his. And for a turbo'd 6.0L and a 100 shot its shouldve been in the 9s a long time ago. 14.7psi= double displacement. So why are DSMs (2.0Ltrs) beating him? at the same boost level??
