I love the gauges too. I'm all about the stock look. it hides how fast my car really is!

nice car . clean simple and fast

They are very quick. Especially if they are tweaked. Cams, P and P, can make that car easily take out SIR's, etc. And with 4 people in it.

LHD Part was there cuz I copied my specs from where my car is shown on a Japanese VW website.

lmk when ur ready to put ur car up against mine (hopefully I should be done by spring) then we can talk about my car's performance! :fing02: don't forget, my car is red, thats like 20 HP right there, plus a kenwood cd deck so thats like another 15hp. :D

For now, I haven't even brought this one out to the track to see what she can do yet.

haven't had it dynoed yet, still bringing all the power i can out of the engine. New sachs performance clutch kit goes on in 2 weeks, then a lightened flywheel. it's got high KM's on here, so I'm not expecting 10s track times or anything! I'm realistic about my ride.


its a nice feeling to know the kid in the Hyundai (no offence to hyundai owners, these just seem to be the folks that try to prove something to me when i'm at the lights), is gonna get spanked by my little old jetta! I have nothing to prove, but i don't mind showin them my tail lights!

with all the mods i believe, ( and this is a general guesstimate) that she is doing about 140hp. will know better once she is properly tuned. I've only owned this car for almost 2 yrs now, so i have lots more work to do.

yea that car is prob doing 1/4 m in 17.5 sec that ok :bigeyes2:

u'll never have enough for me.

a Vr6 and a G60...right.
G60 superchargers dont flow nearly enough for a VR6

hell at 5 psi they only make 160 hp on a 1.8L

so at 2.8L it'll just choke the of of the engine.

and even a VR6 mk2 unless heavilly modded wont touch me...

i'm not trying to put you down.....but u're saying that this AMAZING 16V GTX engine is the ...

we had a guy on here with modded 16V GTI and he only ran a 15.7

gear down there big rig. I never said my car was the . in fact if you read my posts, you'll see i have a pretty good idea my car isn't the fastest. did I say I was spankin audi tt's or vette's?

I can be proud of my car. I have a 16v engine, a lot of vw owners don't. so mine is a cut above most mk2 Jetta's, plus my mods equals one fast little car, not THE FASTEST, but good enough until i choose to go to something more powerful.

we've not tested my car to see how she performs. when i get some track times instead of your expert opinion, then we can see if i have a slow car.

if you ask me, (this is the world I am in) when i pass 8v drivers every day with no balls at all in their rides, mine is a fast car.

I am certain there are cars out ther that can beat me. its a no brainer. but when i show a new club my hard work and the project i have invested time and love into, brought so much performance out of her considering her age and technology and a guy like u comes on and the first thing he does rather than "hey welcome to TSR" is hahahah this guy thinks hes the . how would u take it?

I bet if i look on here i can find some cars that would make YOU feel like your an inch tall in front of all the othher members. you can say you are not tryin to tear me down, but your actions suggest otherwise.

Here's a little b4 and after for everyone. this is just work on the exterior of the car. converted to 92 big bumpers, removed pinstriping (YAY 80's), and got rid of the hood guard ( I curse you 3m!!!!)

best I could get it, then I had to use a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser and laquer thinner to remove the adhesive for the pinstriping and the stone guard, heat gun took care of the rest!

Nope. haven't been there. but been to a few kitchener meets as well as guelph racing meets. I come to cambridge fairly often tho so might have seen me passing by. thanx man! I appreciate the kind words. when we start meets up again in the spring i will invite everyone at TSR to join, as long as they don't mind a cruise to kw! :veryhappy

Yeah man, nice car. The guages are sick. You should think about lowering it tho. Mk2s look sooo nice when they're dumped.

BTW. Whats the difference between a GTX Jetta and a regular one? Besides the 16V.

LOL! I agree. i don't like all the cars that GR members drive, but thats why i drive my vw. Cuz I like it. I'm sure the hyundai driver is just as enamoured with his ride as i am with mine.



Full Recaro Interior, had different bumpers on it, and i don't think much else. it looks like ur everyday mk2. it just has a bit more "go" in it. some of the GTX's were 2l motors, where the 8v's were 1.8 i believe.

not sure wut else the differences are. having owned one of each i can say not much! LOL!!!
