Hey everyone my names Tom, ive been a camaro lover forever i previously had a formula firebird and a 1997 30th annivesery v6 camaro, and i still have a 1988 Camaro which i have a 1968 Corvette 327/350 built in. But i sold all but the 1988 within the last week and ive been saving up for a Z28 4th gen forever and got a call today at work (Cleveland Pick-A-Part) and someguy wrecked his didnt have insurance and wanted to get rid of it ASAP, so i went and picked it up for a steal
Its a 1993 Z28, Automatic, B&M Shiftkit in rebuilt trans, 4:10 rear end, 70k original miles, t-tops. Needs some work, body work of course the only thing i cant do alone, so heres a pic of her now and within the weeks i should have a finished product, All though i havent decided whether or not to Cut the car in half and put a new rear from t-tops back on it, or get the quarter and bottom repaired, or buy a v8 roller or v6 car and swap everything..i Have about 2000 dollars. Let me know your input thank you.

Thats a ton of work ahead of you there. Without even talking about cleaning up that engine bay, your going to dump well over 2 grand into fixing that rear end, and thats hoping that he didnt knock the frame out of alignment.
Best idea for that car imo would be make it a parts car and buy you another one.

Cleaning/Engine bay detail and what not are not things im worried about being totally accesible to a shop with lifts. I plan to (if i get this car fixed) drop the motor down and get some headers in there and do a cleanup.
But if i fix this car, i plan, 19 and 18 inch C6 z06 wheels, Full leather, A Slight lower, SLP or Hooker exhaust, and then maybe some intake mods id just like to see where im at in the quarter mile first with those 4:10s
thanks for the compliments, i got it for 600 bucks, now it seems a lil better huh?

have a shop slap a new 1/4 panel on it first thing, maybe get a complete new paint job from Maaco, but dont let them take any shortcuts (talk to Noriceinside) then you can do the basic boltons like headers, CAI, full exhaust and a tune. that will really help the car overall then you can move into larger mods if you wanted. do you have emmisions? that will effect the type of header selection you have and also when you lower it, do you want it slammed or just lessen the wheel well gap a tad bit? nice project nontheless. good luck

Ok- its a lot more than just "slappin a new panel"- you are going to have probably close to 2 grand in parts before you are done. I would honestly try and find some parts from a junkyard.
The fact that 4th gens are unibody cars and the back-half is all tied together, I think you are going to run into a lot of work trying to make sure the car goes down the road straight. As with every accident, the farther you get into the car the more you find wrong. I bet the damage is a lot worse than it looks.
I think you would have it a little easier work swapping over the parts to V6. Find a higher mileage V6 with a popped motor and swap the parts would be my advice. At least that way you can see what the parts look like as you take them off- and you have everything you will need between the two cars.
