yes, they hurt. ive already blown one fuse in the main power wire from the battery and had to turn them down because i couldnt breath at one point with them cranked.

blue89vert 04-10-2007 08:44 PM

hahha damn!!! matt, when will you stop? haha did you sell the polks? those are damn nice

niceroc 04-10-2007 10:25 PM

"15 seconds into the bass line, i couldnt breath, i turned it down and took a few breaths and it was all good" thats when u know you got a bangin system

NoRiceInside 04-10-2007 10:40 PM

and what did they set you back? coulda put that money into your cam swap...

69z-28 04-10-2007 10:43 PM

300 bucks, ill be selling the old subs for 200. so i got about 2 times the bass for 100 bucks. err something like that.

and no cam swap cause i dont wanna blow up my 100k mile LT1 my senior year of High School.

blue89vert 04-10-2007 11:25 PM

how bout an engine swap then? haha

paarman97maro 04-10-2007 11:28 PM

You change your subs about as much as chad changes his exhaust :D

good choice. so go for full suspension, specifically rear end. i hear stock LT1s are capable of low 13s with perfect traction.

mxracerbrian 04-10-2007 11:39 PM

damn...nice subs :)

prolly, but the happy juice makes 13s easier to acheive and i prefer my comfortable(if you can call it that) ride compared to a lower, rod ended suspension setup that wouldnt be worth dick squat on the fabulous roads of palatine, illinois.lol.

ITSA6 04-11-2007 12:34 AM

nice subs holy wow and smart choice on the cam swap

LOL, It looks that way doesnt it.

Mike Jones 04-11-2007 12:51 AM

I'm sure they really pound. I don't turn mine up that loud personally as I don't care for it that loud but it's cool just knowing it's there.

Sorry to hear about no cam though.

NoRiceInside 04-11-2007 02:47 AM

sell me your GMMG tips :D

so matt, i dogged on your ****, but i must say, ive heard good things about elemental designs, so at least when you go big you go big.

and why do you care about the ride? youve got a WS.6. the way i am about my car, i dont give a **** about the ride quality, the fuel economy, the rattles, the noise, nothin. i have my car for performance. as long as its performaning as it should i dont care how bad the ride is.

in that same respect, if i want a smooth ride i'll buy a mustang :nana:

Bernotas05 04-11-2007 06:09 AM

I know you wanted to keep room for the t-tops, but man that looks like ***. I bet they sound good though. I feel sure you'll grow out of the subs thing here in a few years, as I did. I really wish I hadnt dumped so much into a stereo system that I never use anymore... ever.

blue89vert 04-11-2007 05:13 PM

haha i have had about 3 full systems in my car since i got it meaning 3 sets of subs and 3 different amps. 2 head units too... i made money off of every set i sold so now my trunk is empty until my car is painted and has a 350 haha

NoRiceInside 04-11-2007 08:33 PM

i can 100% vouch for that. in high school i badly wanted two 12s. could never afford it. then finally a year ago i had some money to put into a system, i only went with a single 10". no need for 30" of air movers.

blue89vert 04-11-2007 08:39 PM

im with caleb and phate and whoever else said you'll probly get sick of it. rolling with any of my friends they got subs pounding and ive grown kinda tired of it. for my car just one 10 or 12 would be nice. i hate having no bass. but rattling body panels is a little too much

69z-28 04-11-2007 10:16 PM

good for you guys. its not like i need to drive around cranking bass all the time anyways, and thanks for the nice comments that it looks like ****, idk whos even gonna see them with the hatch closed but w/e. to each their own.

blue89vert 04-11-2007 10:18 PM

i think it looks

paarman97maro 04-11-2007 10:32 PM

The subs look good, the box looks out of place. I think thats what they meant.

Phate 04-11-2007 10:41 PM

Exactly.

And dont take everything so personally man. You post pics, we give oppinions. Thats how it works on forums, its never personal. And we're not dissing you for wanting subs, I think we've all been through that, I know I have. So as you said, to each their own.

thats another reason why i was afraid to put money into my system.....so im just upgrading the stock speakers like the rear 4" to some 6x9 and the door speakers to something bigger that will fit ....personally its good enough for me

He's in high school, it's just a phase he'll grow out of. We all do. I got rid of my dual 10"s for a single 10" once I realized the difference between "mad bass yo" and "listening enjoyment and quality".

That sub box probably limits your rearward view and your ability to carry anything in your car. I'd have gone with a single 10" in a stealthbox.

69z-28 04-11-2007 10:57 PM

i can see out the back fine and i dont really carry anything in my car anyways.
and your all completely right its just a phase im going through.lol. w/e. idk if i said it, but i bought these to keep up with the rest of the system and i like having the best stuff i can get. im sure theres much better stuff than this out there, but this works great for me and suits my needs perfectly.

and when i think you should remove the stickers from your GFX phate, i dont say.... remove them, they look like ****. i would say, im not really digging those, have you thought about taking them off. constructive critisism is different than an ignorant statement of ones oppinion.

Phate 04-11-2007 11:05 PM

As I said here, it looks like ***. I didnt tell you to remove them. I didnt tell you I wouldnt do that. I didnt say "god those are horrible, why would you do that". I said what it looks like. Just take it easy.

It is constructive critisism btw, hence why I stated the reason I thought you put them there instead of in your trunk. Anyway, im done with this. You do this every time. Just dont post pictures if you dont want to hear an answer.

TorqueDog 04-11-2007 11:07 PM

I like 'having the best stuff' too. However, 'having the best stuff' entails that it doesn't look like ***.

What else is new?

paarman97maro 04-11-2007 11:19 PM

have you ever thought about getting a box that doesnt look like it could hold a body inside? :nana:

/constructivecriticism

69z-28 04-11-2007 11:20 PM

there IS a difference between an ignorant remark and constructive critisism, and you seem to be having trouble comprehending that. if you dont like them gtfo of my thread.

TorqueDog 04-11-2007 11:20 PM

If Phate and I keep giving him the tough truths of life, he's going to chop us both up and stuff us in the sub box.

Small bit of saliva dripping from the side of his mouth, he'll maniacally cackle to himself "Paarman is next!"

The difference between an ignorant remark and constructive criticism:

Constructive Criticism:
It looks terrible (or 'like äss').
Should have used a stealth box.
Too big.
It's an eyesore.

Ignorant Remark:
I wouldn't put cat shít in that box, nevermind subs.

As I was telling Phate, I don't know why we keep giving him honest opinions, every time he hears something he does like, he shíts the bed and we never hear the end of it. You didn't see me crying when I had remarks in my Jeep pictures thread that some people didn't like how my Jeep looked. To each his own, you're posting stuff here, that's basically asking us to give feedback.

69z-28 04-11-2007 11:33 PM

are you still here. seriously. dont they have a projectjeep.com or something...
