dip 01-14-2006 06:13 PM

you sure thats not a straight 6?

newbieracer 01-14-2006 06:39 PM

i think it is a straight 6 with itb on the driver side.

I belive the intercooler is off a volvo 18wheeler

Tomek6 01-14-2006 07:29 PM

It's a euro spec E36 M3 motor. The euro spec had the ITB's vs a single TB on the north american version. It's a 3.2L straight six not a V12. Too bad thats not an M3 chasis either but either way its a really really sweet ride. Gotta love the E30s :lala:

That isn't an E36 M3 motor... it's a euro spec E34 M5 motor (3.6L 340HP stock)

I couldn't find a pic of the euro spec M5 motor but here's the M3 motor and damn it looks identical. Im not saying you're wrong because im not 100% sure myself. If you could find a pic of the M5 motor so we could compare that would make it easier.

I know that it's not an M3 motor 100%... the valve cover is different, as well as the front of the timing chain cover...

Here's a few more pics of the car (notice the differences-like the intake mani which is from a 5 series).... also notice the 338 designation he gave the car.

Ehm... Actually it's a 3.8 ;)

Sometimes I am blind. That car is owned and build by a Swedish guy ;)
Yet again, that is how we role. It's Fast, F-A-S-T!

Tomek6 01-17-2006 02:59 PM

Yeah you're right. It looks completely different from that angle. I did see a lil bit of diff from the pic I posted but I figured it was only cuz this car was modified vs the stock pic i posted. Anymore pics? Links?

Actually the stock euro spec is a 3.8, well they have both the 3.6 and 3.8.

Performance (E34 M5)
89-92 (Euro) I6-24v 3.6 L - 232 kW/315 bhp 0-60 mph - 6.3 s. Top speed: 155 mph (electronic limited)
92-95 (Euro) I6-24v 3.8 L - 250 kW/340 bhp 0-60 mph - 5.9/5.7 sec*. Top speed: 155 mph (electronic limited)
91-93 (USA) I6-24v 3.6 L - 229kW/311 bhp 0-60 mph - 6.4 s. Top speed: 155 mph (electronic limited)

Nord 01-18-2006 11:18 AM

Yeap, Tomek6 has done his homework right I see ;)
I think I have had a movie with that running, or else it should be at the internet somewhere. Probably just to search for BMW 338

BOOSTED_ITR 01-18-2006 11:44 AM

^^^ ive seen that vid clip...that thing MOVES!

You are correct... I compleatly forgot that the 340HP ///M5 was a 3.8L

I should know I am a BMW nut, and I've driven one (340HP E34 ///M5)... and I've longed after one ever since. :drive:

Tomek6 01-20-2006 06:45 PM

Yeah they are sick. I've always wanted the 321HP Euro Spec E36 M3. :lala:

What do they have in Canada then ?

The only euro spec car we got here for the E36 model years was in 1994 when BMW brought over a limited supply of compleate Euro Spec ///M3's... 3.2L 286 HP...

The others were all like 3-3.2L E36's with 240 HP....

Nord 01-21-2006 04:15 PM

Okay. Well that's shitty. I'm suffering with you! ;)

But we don't have all cars here either. Sweden does'nt have more then 9 million people living in it so its not a really big market. But when we get the nIce cars they usually don't need do be downgraded at least ;)

Tomek6 01-22-2006 10:24 PM

Yeah and I think canada only got around 50 of the euro spec M3s. and none of the 321hp ones.

Nord 02-11-2006 12:46 PM

I found the Vid clip of it when he "only" had the 3.5 L M30 motor with about 500hp in it.

http://www.kilander-racing.se/movies/kilander.wmv

it the link does not work, just go to http://www.kilander-racing.se/

EDIT: With the S38 motor it ran a 10.44 @ 227 km/h at 402. Which makes it the 15th fastest BMW in the world according to http://www.boostjunky.com/qm.html

Take Notice of that the 15 first cars are all Nordic ;)

Midnight Racer 02-11-2006 08:20 PM

Sick E30

skillton 02-12-2006 02:33 AM

The engine is a S38B38. Car made over 800hp and ran low 10s.
Edit: Didn't see Nord's post before I posted.

ALLAN_M 02-12-2006 03:03 AM

Sorry, but this is off topic, but I figure this thread will be followed by the bimmer guys. Does anybody know a young chinese guy, maybe early-mid 20's that drives a newer black 328? I ran into him on the road in the fall one late night on sheppard ave in scarboro. He told me he was "bone stock" and we played a little. once we came to the next lights i gave him the finger laughing my ass off and said "UUU ****IN LIAR.......supercharged, right?" and he says" ya, its a supercharged E46.....turbo, right?". I told him it was and told him he had the best sounding car i've EVER heard....sooo sexy. His buddies finally caught up to us at the red light, and proceeded to laugh at him for getting spanked by a rusty POS laser. His friends were driving an RSX, an A4, and an Infinite suv (forgot what they're called, but I think they come with 19's or 20's stock) . Anybody have any friends that fit their discription? I'd really like to find out more about his set-up, I loved his car. Like I said earlier, its was the sickest sounding car i've ever heard.

If you had read post #35, you would have known that he would be here in canada. Go back and read it, I give a little bit more details like the cars that his friends drive. I was really impressed with his car...looks/performance /sound of the blower thru the exaust :fing02: . I completely destroyed an M3 earlier that day, and this 328 was much faster....he was actually able to hang around until the top of 3rd (once I had full traction, hehe). Needless to say, I was impressed with it and would like to find out more about it if possible, like what kind of times and #'s it puts down, how much boost he was running, and what kind of $ was invested. I'm sure he was wondering WTF was in my car, and I know his boys got a kick out of seeing him lose and are wondering the same thing.
