I'm doing the long haul. Mark (fbird42), Josh and a few others will be along with thier cars for the trip also. We plan on staying a few extra days down there just to make sure we come home with the Florida tan.
I did Tour in '98 and also last year and the reason I'm going again is that its one of the coolest car things any gearhead could do. It's one thing seeing muscle cars and whatever at a local cruise in on a Sat night, but **** man, you get thousands of them together and hit the open roads and then you all literally take over towns as you pass through them- it does something to you. You see the pics of the Harley Davidson tours and reunion parades where people line the roads and watch from bridges as you go under- that really does happen on the tour. If you choose to do only one part of the tour, the only part to do then is the the end stage because the party and the car gathering at the end is just unbelievable. Every car vendor is there and there's a good chance you'll see and even get to meet the head of those companies- I met the entire Edelbrock crew in '98.
No I'm not on Hot Rod Magazine's payroll because of the way I support the Power Tour the way i do, I just enjoy driving my car and being around fellow car nuts.

Did you say you WANTED me to paint your car?

Just the painter I guess. Was thinking about bringing my car by trailer that way if anyones broke down I would have a trailer there too, unless my brother drives my car for me. Hmmm
