I know everyone likes to be the only one with something, but I figure that its not worth getting mad if someone 'steals' an idea from me, but if thats what they want to do then so be it. Like I said, I take it as a compliment that someone else liked my ideas so much they wanted to copy them..

FD Brickyard - Chad, Meissen, Paar, Derek, and I. and Grant has the "similar in style" 3 piece.

Though Paar is copying me by painting it black, lol.

Haha, I said Im sorry! I swear to god, I didnt realize that your spoiler was black, I didnt even have your car in mind when I did my chop. I just realized that a black spoiler would go so much better with my green/black theme, and match my gfx so they dont look as dumb. I feel like an *** that those little things are so much the same though, but I promise I didnt intend to copy you... Besides, we have different gfx, hoods, and paint. I know yours will stand far apart... Well see what grant comes up with for hood stripes for me.

haha... nice Joe.

Anyways, I found a painter! My buddy with the S-10, his brother works at a body shop. He talked to him, and hes gonna get it painted this weekend .

Anyways, onto my question. To you 3 that have it on (grant too ), my question to you: The spoiler is attached by screws on the stock spoiler. Ive never taken the stock spoiler off, how do I go about doing this? Also, the spoiler must be prefitted, right? This is to prevent paint cracking I assume?

the stock spoiler is easy to get off.. open the trunk and pop off the plastic piece on the inside of the hatch.. 5-6 screw/bolts i think it is and maybe one plug to unplug for the wiring going to the 3rd brake light.

and yes you should prefit it..

Sounds simple enough.

and by prefitting, thats just mounting it once before painting... I dont have to leave it there for a set amount of time or anything do I?

sorry for being a n00b, just gathering info.

i have no idea anythign about those spoilers or what they are made out of...

if it is fiberglass you may want to leave it on the car for 3-5 days or so.. some people believe in this method.. others think it is rdidiculous but.. the thought process behind it is supposed to be that even after being laid/set.. the fiberglass tends to sag/fall/set-in to whatever position it is in if it stays in that position a significant amount of time (i.e. on the car).. so by placing it on the car for 3-5 days before it is paint, you make sure that the fiberglass falls (or whatever you want to call it)... so that once it is painted and put back in the car it has already set-in to that position and then won't crack, bend, or stretch the paint any since it is pre-set-in..

just information ive heard.. not really suggesting it, since i dont know enough about the stuff to tell you wether the theory is really true or not..

im sure one of the paint guys on here can confirm or disprove the theory for me..

Disclaimer: like i said.. not claiming this is true by any means, just somethign ive heard.. no 2Poor4Z bashing lol
