Video Of My Newly Cammed Z28
 

Here's a quick video of my car after the cam. It's a horrible video and as soon as we get a nice day I'll get some good video's made. The sound doesn't come even close to letting you hear what it actually sounds like. When you get up behind the car it actually hurts a little in your chest like a subwoofer does. It has some really good base to it, I absolutly love it and the choice I made is perfect. It sounds good, makes good power, and it still has good street manners considering. Once the 4.10's are installed on Monday I suspect the street manners to be near perfect since they'll get it past the lower RPM cam surge.
I wanted to get a clip of the first startup but I left my camcorder at home :banghead: and Tom (the installer) lives 1.5 hours away from me so I wasn't going to make a three hour trip just to get it on tape. Although watching the oil pressure jump up right after the first start made me feel better :eleph: Tom is a great guy and it feels like we just hung out for the afternoon as he worked away on the install.


Ok I shot another video. It was really windy out and it knocked the camcorder on it's side right after I got in the car so I didn't notice it. It's probably the best video I'm going to get right now. It's the same name and location as the other video I made so download it just the same and you can just overwrite the one that's on your computer if you haven't deleted it already.

It sounds ok but the sound quality is really poor in the video. Like I said I'll get some better video's before to long.

Yeah its poor sounding in the video but i can just imagine what it sounds like in person or in a better video :)

Are you going to get a dyno tune now?

The guy that did the install tuned it right afterwards with HPTuners. We did a street tune which a lot of people like better since it tunes for everything and not just WOT like a dyno tune.

Ok guys it looks like it's suppose to be sunny with a high of 55* here on Monday. I'll try to shoot some quick video's before we do the 4.10 gear install.

nice... maybe it will actually be warm this week then? Ive seen lower temps... Im getting a little worried, Ive already entered spring mode.

That sounds pretty good chad... cant wait to see another vid, and hear it in person.. that setup has to be killer.

I know, when I got there he was tuning a Trans Am that he had done a cam swap in the night before hand.

Sounds really good man. What is the idle set @ ? How is it with the new gears installed? I bet it is like a whole different car now. Gears had to really wake it up i bet. looking forward to seeing it soon man.

In that video it was set pretty low which is why it sounded like it was going to die on startup. It's since been changed, I think it's at about 900-1000 RPM or so.
The gears are amazing, I really got on it for the first time last night and the car actually scared me a little. I can't remember the last time I saw the front end of my car raise that high, and I have lowering springs in.

Let's just say money well spent. I don't regret doing it or regret the cam I bought for a second.

thats sweet chad. I personally think the closer the car sounds to dying the more I like it lol... weird concept, but I think it just sounds sex that way.
