I posted a long winded article in the general car talk section.

I've read lots of reports of either stupid high numbers and some way under known hp. Mustang Dynos are supposed to be better but the best dynos are big dollars.

The best dyno is 1320ft long.

267 hp stock? No wonder the M3:s over there get's blown by any slightly tuned civic. Why don't they have 343 hp as in Europe?

The e46 M3s have a stated flywheel hp of 333 in North America, which I guess is 26xhp at the wheels.

The e36 M3s have a stated 240hp at the flywheel that were made for the North American marketplace. A few 286hp or 321hp versions in North America that were imported from Europe.
