why are BMW cars dropping in price like they were american ? ? ?

just curios , I noticed a 1999 540 is about the same price of a 2000 VTEC Lude ... Then I went further to find a much more expensive lexus from 94 ...

WTF ?

This is becuase the Japanese cars are providing better quality cars which are far more reliable and require less maintanence, so more ppl are buying them. Therefore companies like BMW, Mercedes Benz have to lower there prices to get buyers to come to them. BMW's also depreciate far more than Lexus, Toyota or Honda's.

A couple of words, cost of repair!

Zapa 03-03-2006 04:53 PM

makes sense , but are you saying that fixing a lexus would be a lot less expensive than fixing a BMW ?

while a honda is definently cheaper , i wouldn't see the other two beeing much different

BMWs have always dropped in price. American cars are now starting to hold value better. esp cars from the 70s and now it creeping into the 80s. You have to pay 10-15k for a decent shape 81 z28.

no its because japanese manufacturers brainwash all of you to believe exactly what you just said. Im happy though, now if i want, I get to buy a european car for cheaper.

nismoracing30 03-04-2006 04:11 PM

fixing a BMW is definitly more expensive that fixing a Lexus, Lexus dealers are supposed to have very competitve pricing, BMW on the other hand is extremely expensive, and these are cars have to get Tuned are a certain amount of Km, this becomes very expensive. My uncle had to pay 450$ to change a small outside temp. guage located in the wheel well on his 2003 BMW 530i.

what the hell do you need an outside temperature guage for anyways...??

I'd save myself the $450 and watch CP24 in the morning.

That's true, you'll probably need the $450 for repairs on your Shitsubishi at Chrysler!

Zapa 03-12-2006 02:52 PM

I'm not sure which is worse ...

450 $ for a temp gauge on a 5 series

or 300 $ on fixing your windshield wipers in a shitty Sunflower . . . at least fixing the small temp gauge doesn't cost you close to 50% of the retail value of the car .

right now it would be a bad choice to buy a BMW becuase BMW is rushing their cars on the production line and their turning out like crap. Take for example the 2005-2006 X5's, most of thoes X5's have problems with the Eccentic Shafts and it cost the customer's anywhere from $300-$2000. Also Some of the new 3,5,and 7 series sedans have problems with the Eletronics and that cost the customers even more.

mc_ranjha 05-14-2006 07:13 PM

Check out prices on 2000-2000 7-series BMW's. They're cheaper then some Honda Accords LOL, its insane
