Leung can only hope to improve
if your not gunna build the reccomended size anything big will do for spl if thats what your looking for. for example avg size box for 12s are about 1.75cu ft. so a 3 cu ft. ported box should sound big and slow like 15s and lower your power handeling but just tune the port really low like 25hz or below or it makes it no sense.

thanks for the reply,, actully this sub specs for a .9 cubic' for a sealed and 1.3 for a ported, which is why I am thinking a 1.75 would be better, or even 2.o, i had the sub in wired 2 ohm output to DVC 4 ohm, and ran it in a 1.0 cubic' box and it hit pretty hard, but not as SQ as I would expect form a sealed enclosure, so i am thinking of a ported, but was wondering the ultimate size for a good mix of boom with some decent response,,,, 350 RMS sub and i am pushing 400 RMS mono MTX 4001 amp. I copied the bass slammers dimensions for a 12" slot port,, but it worked out just a lil bit bigger then the 10" bass slammer I have for my 10" now,,, so was wondering..... it was rated 38 hz and 1.75 cubic'.... should I make the box a lil bigger then that....

Any replies will be greatly appreciated....

anyone,,,,,,,

Well I built a 2.5 cubic box minus sub volume, and tuned it to 35hz, with a 3" port 4" long shaved off the rough edges, total box end up being 24 W x 15.25 H x 15.5 D, the sub is off to the left and centered, and my port is in the oposite side on the top at the rear 4" off the corner,,,,.... It turned out perfect, it has intensly more boom almost too much but still has some decent SQ, thanks for anyone who replied in any of my threads,,, but I think I made the right box for this sub,,, ciao
