CD deck wont play cd audio

I bought a used cd deck from RFD. I installed it and it, it played music from the radio fine but no sound would come out if I tried to play a cd. I tried a lot of different cds. It would play the cd, just no sound. So I got back to m0526 and he was nice enough to buy the deck back from me. So today I went downtown and just bought a brand new deck from Mr. Hi fi(Sony xplode, sorry don't have the exact model). Anywho I installed it today and I have the exact same problem. It plays radio staions with the sound, it plays cd's but no sound.

What is most likely the issue?

Another bad deck?
the wireing harness(used the same one for both)?
the Chyrsler LHS amplifier in the trunk?
or the speakers somehow?

other?
