In-Dash DVD help
I am in the process of installing my new in-dash DVD player. The problem I am running across right now is the pink parking switch wire coming out the back of the deck. It is suppose to be connected to the parking brake, or I have been told to just ground it so I can watch DVD's while driving. One of the issues is that I DO NOT have a parking brake. A while ago my Torque arm broke and ground off all my cables, so I just took it out since it was broken anyways. I have tried numerous different ground points for that pink wire and it continues to not work at all. I know for sure it is currently hooked up to a very strong ground point. How can I get the DVD's to play?? My car is a 95 Z28 and the Deck is a Jensen VM9311 DVD.

I replaced my torque arm with a Edelbrock piece a long time ago. But when the original piece broke, it took out the cables and brackets of the parking brake with it. Thus my current problem.

I'm not sure what to say. I heard they were going to make it harder to just ground the wire and I guess they did. You might want to take a volt meter and see what the parking brake does when it's on and then just find something that does the same. Like if it put power through the wire or what.

I don't have a parking brake to test it to. This is really starting to suck. I can't get ahold of the actual company due to the Holiday and the audio boards keep saying "hook it up the safe and legal way" or "read the instructions". Thay are just not understanding my problem.

You need to hook it to the parking brake because the companies don't want you watching movies when you're supposed to be driving. So when the parking brake is on you can watch them, but older models have ways around this.
