Delco Bose & Bose

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between the Delco-Bose system and just the Plain bose system? I heard that if it is Delco the you do not have the Amp that is mounted in the back rear of the car. But that if you have the plain bose system then you do have an amp back there somewhere. I am installing an aftermarket head unit and saw something like what was stated above and Iwas just curious if that is true.

Check behind the spare tire and see if there is an amp back there. Thats the stock location for them.

I looked and there is nothing there. A guy from circuit city said that they are both different in certain ways. After looking at the Bose Wiring Schematics, and realizing that, that system is just straight up confusing. I am just going to gut the whole stero system and start fresh. So out with the Bose and in with the new..

sorry paul you wrong.... the Bose system has individual amps (on the fronts) and a small 6" or 8" sub on the drivers side rear wheel well area. theres nothing by the spare tire.

the monsoon system however which was found in 97 and up f bodies does have an 8 channel factory amp mounted on the passenger side behind the spare tire.

bose means sourced from audiovox is all, it was a ploy to get people with more money than brains to buy an upsell radio that didn't sound any better (kind of like most bose products you see out there)

ya my 97 T/A had "delco" written on the headunit but it was the 10 speaker monsoon style setup with the 8channel amp by the spare tire.

Re: 4 channel amp

u may have to do some rearranging. you could try fittin all of them up there, or put something in the spare tire well or under your subs assuming the box doesnt fill the whole trunk space. u dont have many more options.....
