Help - CompuStar Alarm
Does anyone here have the CompuStar 2W8000FM-AS [Canadian Version] / 2W900FM-AS [US Version] 2-way paging Alarm System.
I'd appreciate your comments and review on it. Thanks
1. How Much did it cost?
2. How much to install?
3. How long have you had it?
4. Ease of use ? (1 - 10) [10 = BEST]
5. Features ? (1 - 10) [10 = BEST]
6. 2-way paging system (1 - 10) [10 = BEST]
7. What PROBLEMS have you had with the alarm?
8. Avg. Battery life?
9. PROS :
10. CONS :
Thanks VERY Much!!

looks similar to the galaxy ones, none of my distributors has them, and none have seen them, aka it may be tough to get service, and parts in the future (only place I see that sells them really is an ebay store)

Biggest problem with the Compustar is the sensitivity on the perimeter alarm. We literally watched a squirrel run by my uncle's vehicle and the alarm chirped to warn the squirrel. The pager displayed "IMPACT WARN".
The poor squirrel was subsequently arrested for the attempted break-in. He was acquitted shortly thereafter due to lack of evidence.
Make sure you set the sensitivity LOW. It should alarm when there is a significant impact, not when Chip and Dale are looking for goddamn acorns and sneeze on your tire.
