How do I change the radio? 1998 Z28 Camaro

How do I get the center-trim-panel off?
My Haynes manual isn't very informtive.

Do I have to take somethig else apart before I can pull back the center-trim-panel? Where might he screws be for it?

There are three screws on each side of the center trim piece. You first have to remove the panel right underneath the steering wheel right by your knees. The three screws are underneath that panel. The other three are behind the glove box door. It makes it easier if you just remove the door.

The trim just snaps off on the '97-'02 interiors. Literally just grab the trim and pull.

I'm just not seeing any screws that would disconnect the center-trim-panel. I took off the bottom drivers panel but I see no screws that could possibly go to the center-trim thingy. Its a long way away from the knee-bolter-panel (drivers kick panel).
I can also lower the glove box, but I see no screws to the left that could go to much.

Hmmmm.....

Is there any way to tell if I have the kind that just pulls striaght back? I guess I'll go pull a little and see what happens. LOL.

It does just pull back! Hooray!
P.S. Anyne know what those two little button looking things are attched at the top of the center-trim-panel? I don't think they are buttos, but they don't look like lights either.

"P.S. Anyne know what those two little button looking things are attched at the top of the center-trim-panel? I don't think they are buttos, but they don't look like lights either."

One is the fog light switch and the other is a place holder for the traction control switch.

I'd have suspected you'd have both on the Z28. My 98' V6 has the fog light switch on the left and the dummy button for the traction control on the right. There should be two sets of connectors, (one for each dummy button). Simply unplug them and then plug them back in when reinstalling the panel.

As a side note, seeing as how all the wiring for different "options" packages and the v8 wiring appears to be in place. I wonder if the computer and cabin wiring is the same for all camaros.. But I'm assuming the "wiring harness" they all refer to is the different v8 sensors going to the computer?
