i have stock speakers in my 98 camaro, i heard that the only way that they are gonna blow is when you turn them so loud that you hear scratchy or disortation. is that true? or is it just when you turn it up to loud? thanks a bunch

depends, they can blow from being turned up loud (wich causes distortion) heat will also kill them.Distortion is any noise that's not the music your listening to, typicaly stock paper speakers distort at much lower volume, and power than good aftermarket speakers

I thought my backs were blown till I replaced my stereo. I replaced my fronts a while back with Sony Explodes, and thought I was going to have to do the same with my back speakers. Now they sound better than ever!! Also my new stereo is using my amp, before I couldn't tell with the factory one.
