your both right and wrong,the w7 is made for sqs however that thing still pounds hard while sounding good unlike other competing subs like the mtx 9500 rockford t series......

i'd go with jl anyday but thats the difference with jl and rockford rockford t2's have all that metal stuff and for the same price u get a jl that is more lighter but u get a crisp bass compared to the rockford which has a travelling bass that you can hear a mile away but iinside your car all it does is rattle and shake into distortion. w7's have been winning db drags for a long time now and they're a very reputable company when it comes to warranty issues.

I have owned W7's, 9500's, T2's, Strokers, Memphis LVS ++++ Many others.
This spring I am gonna be running 2 12" W7's. Since I have owned and played with all of these subs I have a good idea what they can do and what is the best. Hands down the W7 is the best sounding and can handle power just as well if not better then the 9500 and T2 which are higher power handling. As well as the W7 in spec box , VS the T2 and 9500's in there spec box the W7 was still louder. You get what you pay for and JL are worth there money for all there products. Everyone has there own opinnion but stop bashing one of the best brands out there. Question for Type R is that your name because you run alpine type r's? if so then you have no idea what you are talking about cause a Type X little own a Type R has on a W7.
