kenwood amp turns off and wont go back on
alrite im running a Kenwood 1000w amp (KAC 7252) im using 1500w, 8 gauge wires, 2 10" Planet Audio VC10D 2(ohm) subs and a Pioneer DEH P77OOMP deck. its in a 95 civic.
so heres my problem....the other day i was driving (no more wreckless than usual) with the music at a medium volume and my amp jus shut off. after checking that the ground and power cables were still secure and all my wires were in place, i was stumped. i checked the remote wire in the back of my deck and its still secure. i checked the fuses on both the amp and the one under the hood but both seem fine. the indicator light on the amp is off. this happened once before but after about an hour or so it came back on and i just thought it had overheated. now it has been 2 days and i cannot find the problem. im jus wondering if anyone can suggest any solutions.
thnx for any input

Is there a protection light on the amp? Is it on? check the power and remote for power with a meter , also make sure the ground wire didnt come loose (where its grounded to the car) and the its grounded to bare metal.
Check to see that the speakers are not blown, wired wrong or damaged, cuz that could cuz the amp to go into protection. Check power wire and fuse, and also the remote lead for power with a meter. If all else fails, check to the rca's cuz they may have been yanked out or damaged if the amp was floating around in the trunk .

well everyone has said everything i would, however, thats pretty big amp for using 8 gauge wire.. replace with at least 4 gauge.
i know the amp your using, and it will have a protection light on it. most of the time its a bad ground.
My 600 kenwood amps would get super hot and not shut down. SO it is probably not that.

it seems as if the amp is getting no power what so ever, even if it went into protection mode the light would be on and he said there was no lights. check the ground and also check the fuse up front with a meter, sometimes the fuse is blown but isnt visable. basicly get a meter and see if the amp is gettin power or not.
