Need Help Please

Hey guys anyways I use to have a 2 10 inch subs and an alpine amp in my car. Was running about 300 rms. Anywyas I had a problem that whenever my subs were loud my car would have a squeeling noise. It did this before I had the subs though and whenever my AC was on. Anywyas since the colder weather came I realised that my car made this sound a lot worse when my defrosters were on so I decided to upgrade to a GS alternator. This still did not solve my problems although it did help a bit. About a week later after getting my GS alt put in my alt light came on on my dash so back to the mechanics it went. Once this happened I decided to sell the system because I needed a car that was going to be realiable and get me to and from work. Well since I sold the system and had the alternator upgraded the car has been great no more squeeling at all.

hahah anyways my question is

Is there any possible way to get subs in my car without a squeeling noise, im thinking what if I upgraded to 4 gauge wiring, put a capacitor in and maybe the addition of a second battery allthough that does seem a little extreme to put a system in my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i think u should buy a new system that can be pushed by and extra battery this should help because it would be deriving its power from the extra battery

It's probably your belt....

basically... when you're turning accessories on (the defroster, the amp... whatever) it is causing there to be a greater draw on the electrical system. This greater draw means the pullies/belts have to work harder. If the belt isn't tight, it'll squeel.

Try changing the belt (cheap fix!) and let us know how it works out for you

I'm shaking my head at you, I bet your in love with monster cables.

Anyway...
Ya, you are getting a lot of noise off all your electrial components in your car, like you fan (motors are very noisy) You need to get it all filtered out. You need a diode and a Cap, not a 1Farad, you need like a 470uF or something, you will have to experament. You need a Diode from the Positive termial of the ALT to ground, lots of older cars have these.

please guys, I upgraded my alternator to a 95 amp from a 65 amp and that got rid of the squeeling, I fried 2 belts off even when I get the bigger alternator when my system was on. Tonight I put my buddies 15 inch type r and his infinity 800 watt rms amp in my car, I didnt drive at all but I had it really loud and it didnt squeel at all? what if I got my alternator wound to bigger amperage and put a 2nd battery in? would that allow me to get a system?

I ran 2 dvc 15's on a stock battery & alternator in a z24 for years without ever having a power output problem. I think your problem is in your wires. Does that noise get louder when you get on the gas pedal? It might be engine noise your stereo is picking up. check your wires to make sure the plastic surround isn't cracked anywhere and make sure your rca's & power wire aren't running right next to each other.
Obviously without hearing the noise for myself I can't really tell if this fix is the correct one though...
