Need some help
Ok, so last week my stock HU took a crap on me. I went out and got a JVC g720 I picked up the stock wiring harness adapter as well. I wired everything up and I am getting no sound. The HU powers up and works like it should I can throw cds in and hear them spinning and I can tune in radio staions and Im getting a full signal, however there is no sound from the speakers.
The stock system is a Bose. I was searching around in some old threads and saw someone mention if you had a bose system you had to rewire everything. I hope this isnt the case as I have an 8 hour road trip coming up and I dont have time to rewire the whole system.

In some cases, old speaker systems are not compadable with new HU's. However im not sure this is the reason in your case. I'd check all the obvious things first. Grounds, bad wiring, bad hookups... etc.

The ground is solid, and the wiring is as it should be. I matched up the HU wiring with the stock harness adapter. (i have checked it a dozen times since then). I tried some other speakers I had laying around on the new HU and it is putting out sound as it should be. I tried using a different stereo to get any of the stock speakers to work and they just wont for some reason. Do I have to hook up an amp to get these things working or what?

Just sounds like those speakers/wiring isnt going to work on a new HU. I dunno from experience though, when I did it, I swapped all the speakers and wiring out too.

So I guess I would need to power that amp before I could get any of the speakers working? (yes I'm still looking for a way to get out of rewiring the system. )

Although now that you mention it the speaker in the rear is in a large box with 4 wires coming out of it instead of the 2 it would need to power the speaker. Which probably means the amp is in that box.

Just learned something else interesting, #1 the speaker covers for the speakers in the back seat area are very easy to break (******). #2 There weren't any speakers behind them. Its a 3 speaker system. Two in the doors and the one in the back hatch.

That did indeed work. There is a slight buzz in the speakers but since I don't have time to screw with it before my road trip it will work a hell of a lot better than not having any music. Thanks.

the ground at your radio make sure its solid even try unhooking the ground from the harness and goin to like osme metal back there. If you still have noise there is a way to fix this. Can you confirm for me that your volume **** is very sensitive?
