Just for the sake of arguement, we just bought our second panasonic head unit. the first one lasted over 8 years, and is still in my van. We just put a new Panasonic cd/mp3/wma/xm satelite radio in our jetta, and when I finish my new rabbit, it will get a Panasonic too. I'll recommend them to anyone, they are relatively inexpensive, and I never had 1 problem with my old one.

man go for the jvc
i have one, not the best decks out there

sony should only stick to home entertainment systems....

just to let you know my point.
i have always owned Kenwood decks because they have always made all my systems sound great. Pioneer is ok as well, but i have found kenwood to be the best..
Kenwoods ratings are higher then sony as well.
JVC is ok, i bought a car and it had a kamelion in it, and i hated the way it mad the whole system sound.
I replaced it with a new kenwood.

NOTORIOUS VR will become famous soon enough
It's all about Alpine for headunits... even a low end Alpine will sound better then most decks mentioned here.

not at all man...my alpine cost more new then my old ladies kenwood and hers is way clearer...we both have 50 x 4 BUT she has 5 volt preout where as most alpine dont......also kenwood looks nicer then my alpine kenwood also has the new feature built in where it tells you the G'S your pulling when you turn and shows a pic of a car turning its wicked....plus the kenwood features are more endless for bang for the buck...its awsome plus there screens have more features and durablity
