Premium Stereo for Ford Escape

Premium Stereo for Ford Escape
I am attempting to set up a Stereo for a friend who has a 93' Ford Esacpe with the Premium 6-Disc Stereo.
On the back of the stereo is 2 plugs, one for the normal wiring harness, and the other marked Amp.
I would assume that this second plug is for the outputs to an Amp/Sub, but I cannot Confirm this.
Can someone verifiy that this plug is for an Amp and where could I get a Harness/adapter for this plug?
