Question abt amp wiring

ok so i got an amp/sub box.. its those all in ones(amp+sub+box).. with 60 rms and abt 110 peak..

is it ok if i just take the 12v frm the deck harness? like just splice it frm there instead of goin frm the battery?? the requirement is just 60 rms....

I think it would be safer to get your 12volt source from the battery. I seen a situation where a friend used the same power wire leading to his deck, the wire began to smoke after a couple of hours or play...be safe than sorry!

good god NO... don't do that.

The wire that goes to the stock HU is nowhere close to being able to handle the kind of current the amp will draw (even only being 60w) .....

geez, an amp kit is very inexpensive, why dick around with something like this? Just to save a few minutes on the install? Nuts....

I say do it!
(always wanted to see what would happen to a car if someone did that!)

lol
sorry I didn't mean to be a punk!

Anyways, make sure that you put a fuse on that wire as well (if you haven't yet)
Preferably no more than a foot from the battery connection...
