I am trying to replace the honda radio / casset player in my 2000 accord with a JVC CD player. unfortunatly the wirring is totally different on the new JVC unit. I have managed to connect the front and rear speakers but cannot get the Bose amplifier for the rear speakers to work. does anyone know how to wire this unit . the back of the old unit has a 10 pin socket labelled 12P coupler which appears to connect to the amplifier but I am not sure of the connection.I should mention that this vehicle is a UK spec.

I have the same problem.
The follwoing information is what I have found so far.

First of all, what you need to know is that 12P Coupler is specially designed for the Boss Audio System of Honda Accord. The signal way is from the head unit (radio) to the signal-EQ-Box which is under the passenger seat. From there the signals go back to the head unit again through this 12 pin connector and then to the door speakers. But the bass signal goes directly from this EQ-box to the rear bass amplifier (which sits between the subwoofer). Because of replacing the original radio, the EQ-box has not been worked. Probably you have connected the door speakers directly to the radio. In this case the EQ box can not give out the bass signal for the TSM woofer amplifier.

The point is how to reconnect Head Unit to EQ signal box. Probably you need to connect the input cables of the EQ signal box to the input cables of the head unit. But I am not sure. I also dealing with this problem. If you find any solution for this, please let me know. I will also do it for you.

I have a short question. Have you ever had any noise problem since installing a new Head Unit? In some case, a new head unit can generate loud plopping while turning radio on and/or changing sound source because of low impedance of the speakers. I hope above to be some helpful information for you.

Hi, sorry for my late question about this post, but i have your same problem:
I'm trying to install a sony cd/mp3 radio instead of the original just cassette radio(on my honda accord 99).
The problem is that the car mount a bose surround system and when i mounted it i connected the normal iso connector to the radio, everyhting work well except the amp that doesn't work at all.
I can see that there are two connectors:
-1st, with the 4 speakers and gnd, nd, +, etc
-2nd called 12p coupler, i think this one is responsable of the silence of the amp.
Obviously i don't have on my sony cdx a connector for the 12pcoupler, but just for the normal iso.
I just have(on the sony)audio exit to amp and amp +
Does anyone knows what to do to make the amp work?

My piece of advice:
1.All tape heads must be periodically cleaned, and there are kits available for this purpose.
2.CD players need maintenance as well.
3.Speakers should be tightened from time to time, as they can attle loose from bumpy roads and general car vibration.
4.If the stereo doesn't seem to be getting power, check the fuse box. Sometimes the fuse will burst from a power surge, or simply burn out.
