That's exactly your problem.... your HU's wire that requires a switched input (from your ignition) is getting constant power.

Did you use a wiring harness when you installed the radio?

I don't have a wiring diagram but you could always find one with a test light.

The 90 Jetta may not have had a constant power wire, so someone may have led one in the past, and you've just gotten it switched with the switched. Pretty common, and I've done it before in my Rabbits. Just pull the deck and check the 2 power leads. You've likely just got them switched. The ignition switched in those cars are unlikely to go, the newer ones on the other hand... well, I've got a 94, on it's 3rd.

To get the antenna to fit properly u need an antenna adapter u can get it at crappy tire or any audioshop for like $10, and as for the deck the same like they said about a wire being constant.

your wiring should be like this in the car:

12v ignition wire-(stock wiring-yellow/redstripe)-(new deck-red)
ground-(black)
12v battery wire-(stock wiring-white/yellow or blue stripe)-(new deck-yellow)
dash light dimmer wire-(orange)
power antenna or remote wire for amp-(stock wiring-brown/white stripe)-(new deck-blue or blue/white stripe)

All the other colors are for speakers, but if your wires are different then someone may have tampered witht he wiring for some reason before.
